Great Scott… the flux capacitor is charged, the DeLorean is idling, and we’re about to punch in a new destination: the 1993 college football season. This was the year when Charlie Ward was winning the Heisman, Tommie Frazier was just getting warmed up in Lincoln, and the biggest postseason controversy in America was whether Notre Dame Fighting Irish football beating Florida State Seminoles football actually meant… you know… they should be ranked ahead of them. Back then, the Bowl Coalition was supposed to fix everything. Spoiler alert: it didn’t. Meanwhile Jurassic Park was teaching America that scientists shouldn’t play God… and college football executives were teaching America they absolutely would. But today, we’re rewriting history. We’re taking the entire 1993 season and dropping it into the modern 12-team College Football Playoff. No bowl tie-ins. No backroom voting rooms. No “well technically they’re number one in the coaches poll.” Just twelve teams… a bracket… and the kind of postseason chaos that would make Steve Spurrier dial up another Fun ’n Gun touchdown just to run up the score. So grab your Starter jacket, rewind the VHS, and get ready… Because the 1993 season is about to see the future. Roads? Where we’re going… we don’t need roads.
